The Conference

Saturday, Nov 5th (9:30am-4:00am)

Thirty years ago, the first annual BBSA conference was held at Columbia Business School. Since then, the conference has evolved as profoundly as the constituency it serves – the African American community. The conference brings together current and prospective MBA students at the top business schools as well as alumni and the broader African American professional community in the New York area.

This year, our speakers will look back at the achievements and challenges of the African American MBA over the last three decades and engage the audience on ideas for the way forward.

Traditionally, panelists at the conference have directly and honestly sought to explain the contemporary role of race in the career life of an African American professional. Our experienced panelists give powerful and forthright testimonies on how they managed their careers and/or businesses ventures to achieve great levels of success. Our speakers come from with a wide range of experiences ranging from young ambitious entrepreneurs to the most successful executives at the world’s leading organizations.

In a nutshell, this conference is about leveraging lessons and context from history to propose meaningful ways through which the African American community will create more intellectual and economic wealth in the 21st century.
